Tigers clipped by Longview, 12-7, in tennis match

TEXARKANA, Texas -- Texas High fell to district rival Longview, 12-7, in varsity tennis action on Tuesday.

"We are so proud of how these kids competed and fought tonight," Tigers head coach Toby Watson said. "The kids should hold their heads up because they left everything on the courts tonight."

Avery heats up in second set, wins

AVERY, Texas -- Jalyn Ingram put down 24 kills to go with 24 digs, six blocks and an ace as Avery defeated Hughes Springs, 22-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16, in a varsity volleyball match on Tuesday.

Kristin Burkett paced the Lady Bulldogs with 10 service points along with 12 kills, a pair of aces and three blocks. Katie Baird had 48 assists for Avery.

Trinity Abbott slapped in 14 points on serve to lead the junior varsity Bulldogs to a 24-26, 25-10, 25-17 victory over the Lady Mustangs.

Atlanta goes 3-0 against Daingerfield

ATLANTA, Texas -- Atlanta won its varsity, white and maroon matches against Daingerfield on Tuesday.

Kym Sheppard had 10 kills and four blocks for the varsity, Kaylon Partain had 24 digs, six kills and eight aces, Carlajah Adger had 16 digs, Rylie Pattillo had nine assists and Madison McCoy had eight assists to go with three aces for the Lady Rabbs.

Kalissa Reliford had eight digs in the maroon match for Atlanta, Elliana Edwards served in four points and Cha'Nya Clark had three service points.

Emma McCall slapped in five service points for the Lady Rabbs in the white match, Ashlyn Webb had four service points, Kayden Allen had three digs and Gabby Petrofsky served in three points.
