Suspect arrested in weekend fatal shooting

TEXARKANA, Ark. -- A suspect is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Sunday.

Daevion Marquez Williams was arrested Tuesday on a first-degree murder warrant, according to the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department.

Early Sunday morning, Joseph Ross, 26, was shot in the parking lot of a convenience store on North State Line Avenue.

Ross was in the parking lot of 4524 N. State Line Ave. when he was hit by gunfire. Ross was taken by private vehicle to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In a separate incident, a warrant for first-degree murder has also been issued for Jamauri Martavious Davis, 18, of Texarkana in the shooting death of Keeunta Gilliam, 19.

Davis is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department.

Police were dispatched about 3:30 p.m. Sunday to the 2000 block of East 24th Street, where Gilliam was found shot. He was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center and later died.
