TEXARKANA, Texas -- A Bowie County grand jury on Thursday indicted two men accused in a Texarkana woman's near-fatal fentanyl overdose last year.

Johnathan Allen Murray, 33, allegedly sold five or six pills to Conner Morgan, 22, on the afternoon of Dec. 19, according to a probable cause affidavit. Morgan was allegedly accompanied by an 18-year-old woman when he met Murray that day in the parking lot of a grocery store on Summerhill Road in Texarkana, Texas.

Morgan allegedly sold three blue pills stamped M30 to the woman for $30 apiece the same evening. Two blue pills and another half of a blue pill stamped with M30 were allegedly found in the woman's bedroom by her mother after the overdose and given to Texarkana Texas Police Department officers.

Prescription oxycodone pills are blue and stamped with M30. According to the DEA, four of every 10 fentanyl-containing counterfeit oxycodone pills contains a potentially lethal dose.

Morgan was arrested Dec. 22, and Murray was arrested Feb. 2. Both men were indicted Thursday for possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl, with intent to deliver causing serious bodily injury or death.

If convicted, Morgan and Murray face two to 10 years in prison.

The woman who overdosed was found unresponsive in her bedroom later on the evening of Dec. 19. Her mother was unable to wake her. When the woman's breathing stopped, the mother performed CPR until first responders arrived.

The woman reportedly told TTPD Investigator Colten Johnson that she was informed by hospital staff that she would not have survived if she had not been found by her mother and given emergency medical attention.

The woman allegedly reported that she ingested the drug while sitting in Morgan's car at her home in Texarkana, Texas.

At the time of his arrest in December, Morgan was free on bond in a robbery case. Fifth District Judge Bill Miller recently revoked Morgan's bond in the robbery case and he is being held without bail.

Murray's bail is set at $250,000. He is being held in the Bowie County jail.

The men are expected to appear before Miller next month for arraignment.
