Southwest Arkansas Seniors tournament competitive at New Haven

TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Sixty players participated in the Southwest Arkansas Seniors "New Haven Scramble Tournament" on Wednesday at New Haven Golf Club.

In the A Flight, Pete Simpson and Donte Weed took first place with a total of 66. Dennis Simpson and John Stephens followed in second place after a tie-breaker, with 67, and Ronnie Ingram and Tom Coleman also shot a 67, finishing in third.

The team of Terry Norris and John Ethridge took first place in the B Flight, with a total score of 71. Second and third place also battled it out in a tie-breaker as Joey Baker and Mickey Evers edged out Danny Flanagan and James Goodwin for second place with 72.

All ties are broken starting on the second hole, per the golf course bylaws.

Two more tournaments are scheduled in June, with the first being at Texarkana Golf Ranch on June 9 followed by one at Nashville Country Club on June 30.
