Bowie County will mull expanding medical services

NEW BOSTON, Texas -- Bowie County Commissioners Court will consider additional medical aid for the county during their first monthly meeting Tuesday.

Commissioners will consider approving an agreement with Dr. Michael N. Holland, a medical provider at Bowie County Family Health Center, 902 W. 12th St. in Texarkana. If approved Holland, who will be paid $31,000, will serve as a medical director and provide consultation and medical examinations at the center for eligible family planning clients, according to county records.

In other business, commissioners will consider reappointing county residents Tish Hicks and Todd Reed to the Bowie County Housing Authority Board.

The meeting will be at 9 a.m. at the courthouse.
