TEXARKANA, Ark. -- The Texarkana Museums System will host its fifth annual recipe exchange Saturday.

This year's theme is "Canned Goodies," so guests are asked to bring recipes found on the labels of canned foods or to bring a recipe that includes a canned food as one of the ingredients, according to a news release.

TMS will provide samples of dishes made using vintage recipes from its Texarkana Foodways collection. Guests are encouraged to bring samples of their own recipes to share.

This is a free event, but admission is one printed recipe to share with the community. Recipes can be typed or hand-written, and all will be archived in the Texarkana Foodways collection in the Wilbur Smith Research Archive.

(The recipe exchange is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the P.J. Ahearn Home, 403 Laurel St. For more information, call 903-793-4831 or email [email protected].)
