TEXARKANA, Texas -- A May court date is scheduled for a man charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Moses Ross, 25, of Texarkana had his first pretrial hearing Tuesday, April 4 in Bowie County's 102nd District Court with Judge Jeff Addison, according to court records. A second hearing is scheduled for May 2.

Ross was arrested in January by Texarkana Texas Police Department after a preschool-age girl made an outcry of abuse to her mother. The mother immediately called 911.

Detective Tabitha Smith's investigation reportedly uncovered information and evidence that led to the arrest warrant.

The girl, who was 4 years old at the time, was interviewed Jan. 11 at the Children's Advocacy Center. A sexual assault nurse examiner also examined the girl, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The child used dolls to demonstrate what Ross allegedly did to her and said "it made her body feel bad," according to the affidavit.

Ross was booked into the Bi-State jail after being interviewed by detectives. He was indicted in March and is represented by the Bowie County Public Defender's Office, according to court records.

Ross remains in jail on total bail of $600,000.

If found guilty of the aggravated sexual assault charge of a child younger than 6, Ross faces 25 to 99 years or life in prison.
