REDWATER, Texas -- Redwater ISD will host an active shooter training Monday.

Called "Active Shooter Training and Simulation of a Proactive Response to a Man-Made Threat," the exercise will be facilitated in partnership with Region 8 Education Service Center for School Safety and local law enforcement.

"Preparedness on programs such as this training/simulation is not only a benefit for our staff but also for our community," district spokesperson Tina Veal-Gooch said. "The more we all know and are prepared for, the better the potential outcome can be for our students and staff."

All Redwater ISD staff and contracted staff are required to attend the training, which will take place at Redwater Elementary.
