TEXARKANA, Texas -- Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a man who allegedly was involved in a shootout with two other men in the middle of a residential street.

Datrit Harris, 20, is wanted on warrants for deadly conduct/discharge firearm and failure to identify, according to the Texarkana Texas Police Department.

At 7:30 p.m. May 20, police received several calls about shots fired in the area of Babb Lane and Tracola Street. Callers told 911 that they heard at least 20 shots and gave a description of a white Nissan Maxima that was allegedly involved.

On the way to the call, Officer Micah Miller met the Nissan at the intersection of Richmond and Belt roads. The vehicle took off through the red light after Miller turned his cruiser around to get behind the Nissan.

Miller pursued the vehicle until it stopped on East 42nd Street in Texarkana Arkansas.

Zachary Moore, 20, and Kadarus Lincoln, 17, were the reported occupants of the Nissan. They were arrested by Texarkana Arkansas Police Department after two guns, one of which had been reported stolen, and drugs allegedly were found inside the car.

Detective Tabitha Smith later obtained surveillance video of the area near Babb and Tracola. In the footage, a dark-colored car could be seen passing the Nissan and stopping, according to police. Almost immediately, a man with a rifle stepped out of the car with a rifle and started shooting in the direction of the Nissan. At the same time, two men get out of the Nissan and shoot back toward the other man.

After several shots were exchanged, the two men sped away in the Nissan and the man with the rifle ran off on foot.

Smith obtained warrants for Moore on charges of deadly conduct/discharge firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and evading arrest with a previous detention. She also obtained a warrant for Lincoln on a charge of deadly conduct/discharge firearm.

Moore and Lincoln were arrested on May 31 and are being held in Bi-State Detention Center. They had already bonded out of jail on the Arkansas charges and were arrested in Texarkana, Texas, according to TTPD.

Smith later identified Harris as the rifle shooter. She obtained warrants for his arrest last week.

Anyone with information on Harris' whereabouts is asked to call TTPD at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
