Quentin Tarantino is reportedly nearing his grand finale, with a film titled "The Movie Critic" in the works.
The filmmaker already wrote the script for what's being described as his last movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He plans to begin directing the project this fall.
Little is known about the plot but it reportedly centers on a female character in 1970s Los Angeles.
Tarantino, 59, hasn't made an official announcement regarding the film but said last year his next movie would be his last.
"I've been doing it for a long time," Tarantino told CNN in November. "I've been doing it for 30 years and it's time to wrap up the show. I'm an entertainer. I want to leave you wanting more, and I don't want to work to diminishing returns."
Tarantino said at the time he didn't know what that film would be, adding, "I'm also not in a giant hurry to make my last movie."
"The Movie Critic" is not yet attached to a film studio.
Tarantino released his first film, the crime classic "Reservoir Dogs," in 1992. He's also known for directing "Pulp Fiction," both volumes of "Kill Bill," "Inglourious Basterds" and "Django Unchained." His most recent release, 2019′s "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood," won two Oscars, including best supporting actor for Brad Pitt.
Tarantino, a three-time best director nominee at the Academy Awards, won Oscars for best original screenplay in 1995 for "Pulp Fiction" and 2013 for "Django Unchained."
