PATTONVILLE, Texas -- For the fourth game in a row, the DeKalb Bears offensive express couldn't be contained.

As a result, they now find themselves tied atop the District 10-3A summit.

DeKalb managed to shake off a response from the Prairiland Patriots early in the first quarter, and the Bears never looked back as they strolled to a 54-16 victory at Patriot Stadium in Pattonville Friday night.

The win moves the Bears to 5-1 overall, but more importantly into a first-place tie with Hooks at 3-0 in district play. Meanwhile the Patriots fell to 3-5 on the year and 1-3 in district play.

After taking the lead less than three minutes into the game at 6-0, the Bears suddenly found themselves on the receiving end of a quick response by the Patriots just 28 seconds later.

Mason Pusateri broke free for a 65-yard touchdown run up the middle, giving the Patriots an 8-6 lead after Kardadrion Coulter converted the two-point conversion.

DeKalb wouldn't be so generous from that point on defensively, as the Bears silenced the Patriots the rest of the first half, and the majority of the second half.

The Patriots only other score came with a running clock at the 2:37 mark of the fourth quarter when Aiden Youngblood scored from 10-yards out before adding the two-point conversion.

Before that though, it was all about the Bears offense.

First it was Winky Williams giving the Bears a 14-8 lead with a four-yard score before he added the two-point conversion at the 7:32 mark of the first quarter

Neither team would score the remainder of the first quarter, but the Bears still had plenty left in the tank.

Williams would show off his arm just 56 seconds into the second quarter as he connected with Hayes Murphy for an eight-yard touchdown to make it 22-8 after the two-point conversion.

With less than four minutes to go before halftime, Williams struck again as he dashed his way 21-yards for the touchdown to make it 30-8 after the two-point conversion pass was successful.

Just before halftime Dom Dunn got in on the action as he rushed his way 17-yards for the touchdown to put the Bears in a comfortable 38-8 lead going into the locker room.

DeKalb began the second half with a strong defensive stand, and then needed just two plays to ice the game on its next offensive possession.

Williams found a hole and raced 62-yards for the touchdown, before adding the two-point conversion to make it 46-8 with 7:41 remaining in the third quarter.

DeKalb would get a fumble recovery to start the fourth quarter, and the offense turned it into points.

Dunn finished off a solid night for the Bears offense as he punched it in from 16-yards out to put away the Patriots for good.

Next up for the Bears is a home contest next Friday night against Chisum, while the Patriots are at New Boston. Both games are slated for 7 p.m. kickoffs.
