Genoa Central’s Robertson hits walk-off home run against Bismark

ATLANTA, Texas -- Atlanta won its 10th game of the season and took control of the District 14-3A standings after a 6-1 win over Redwater on Friday.

Down 1-0 through five innings, Atlanta (10-9-1 overall, 6-2 in district), which is now winners of eight in its last 10 games after beginning the season 0-5, rallied with six runs in the sixth inning in the big win.

The game-changing inning was ignited by Will Woodruff, who leveled the score at 1-all on a fielder's choice hit by Peyton Gaston. Later in the inning, Evan Mitchell stepped up, delivering an RBI single to bring Peyton Harrison home.

Mitchell, who led Atlanta with two hits, belted a two-run single to left field afterward to score Easton Owens and Mitchell.

After a wild pitch brought Cason Whatley in for a score, the Rabbits got their last run with a sharp hit by Brady Partain, bringing in Mitchell.

Jaxon Minter, Brody Johnson, and Michael Newton led Redwater (11-9, 5-3) with one hit each.

The Rabbits got a solid pitching performance from Gabby Arredondo, who struck out seven, walked one, and gave up five runs -- one earned -- on five hits for his 13th win of the season. So far this season, Arrendondo hasn't lost a game while striking out 106 batters and owning a 2.79 ERA through 122 2/3 innings.
