Prep Baseball: Liberty-Eylau blanks Sulphur Springs, eyes district leader Pleasant Grove on Saturday

SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas -- Liberty-Eylau banged out 13 hits while its pitching staff combined for a one-hitter en route to an 11-0 shutout victory over Sulphur Springs on Friday night.

Triston Haugh led the charge on the mound, striking out three, walking one, and conceding the game's only hit in his two innings of work. Triston Berry followed suit, throwing two innings, striking out one, and walking two before Gunnar Keith stepped in to close the game.

Liberty-Eylau (18-6-1, 8-2) wasted no time, scoring five runs in the first inning. The Leopards maintained their momentum, adding one run in the second, two in the third, and a final three in the fifth.

With the win, the Leopards hold strong in the second spot in the District 15-4A standings. Their next challenge comes Saturday against district-leading Pleasant Grove (16-7-1, 10-0), which defeated Paris, 10-0, on Friday.

Collin Evans led the Leopards with three hits, including a double. Britain Pipes, who had a game-high three RBIs, Dylan Nabors, and Maddax Moore also ripped doubles in the win.
