LONGVIEW, Texas--Pleasant Grove's varsity tennis team traveled to the Longview Invitational on Friday to compete against 26 other teams.
"There was a gauntlet of teams [Friday], including 4A, 5A and 6A schools," Pleasant Grove coach Erik Pickett said. "It was exciting to see our Hawks battling hard as we close out our spring season preparing for districts, regionals, and state coming up next."
The event saw more than 480 matches being played.
District play begins April 22-23 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

TEXARKANA, Texas--Texas High's junior varsity team competed in the Liberty-Eylau Varsity Invitational this week and won some hardware against stiff competition.
"Very proud of how these kids competed in some tough matches," Watson said. "Several of our kids brought home some hardware."
