Man pleads guilty to 2022 Hope murder committed as a teen

HOPE, Ark. -- A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to 40 years in state prison after pleading guilty to murder in the 2022 shooting death of a local teenager.

Bryceston Jacquess Marks, of Bryant, Arkansas, also pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, terroristic acts and aggravated assault.

Marks pleaded guilty Monday before 8th Judicial District North Circuit Judge Duncan Culpepper. The case was prosecuted by the office of the 8th Judicial District North Prosecuting Attorney Ben Hale.

On May 3, 2022, Hope Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of South Walnut Street. At the scene, officers found TyKendrick Bradford suffering from a gunshot wound.

Bradford died a short time later.

On May 5, 2022, Marks, who was 18, surrendered after a warrant for first-degree murder was issued for his arrest.
