TASD appoints administrators to new leadership positions

TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Texarkana Arkansas School District is elevating three of its own to new positions within the district.

The Board of Directors appointed Johnny Arnold as principal of Arkansas High School and Thelma Forte as principal at Arkansas Middle School. Dana Walker is returning as director of the ABC (Arkansas Better Chance) Pre-K Center.

Arnold has been with the district since 2010. He has worked in various positions, including chemistry teacher and assistant principal.

Forte has been interim principal at the middle school since March. She has more than 29 years of teaching and administrative experience.

Walker has been in the education field for 15 years as a teacher, reading specialist and assistant principal in districts spanning Arkansas and Texas.

"We are thrilled to welcome Johnny Arnold, Thelma Forte and Dana Walker to their new roles within the Texarkana Arkansas School District," Superintendent Dr. Lloyd Jackson said. "Their collective expertise, dedication, and passion for education will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth and success of our schools and the students we serve."
