FOREMAN, Ark. -- A correctional officer for the Little River County Detention Center died early Thursday in a one-vehicle accident on Arkansas Highway 32.
Laken Elizabeth Cauley, 25, of Foreman was traveling westbound at 12:35 a.m. Thursday just south of Foreman when the 2011 GMC Yukon she was driving left the road and overturned before coming to a rest, according to a preliminary fatality report from the Arkansas State Police.
Cauley was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Little River County coroner, according to the report.
On Thursday, the Little River County Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page that the department had lost one of its own in a vehicle accident.
The accident remains under investigation by ASP.
