TEXARKANA -- Almost 80 electricity customers in the area lost power after strong thunderstorms swept through early Friday morning.
Southwest Arkansas Electric Cooperative reported more than 70 area customers without power.
As of 8 a.m. Friday, the company's online outage map showed one outage in Bowie County, Texas, 64 in Miller County, Arkansas -- including three in Texarkana -- and eight in Lafayette County, Arkansas. Repair crews had been assigned to them all.
Southwest Electric Power Company's map showed three outages in Texarkana, Texas, and two in New Boston, Texas, without noting the status of repairs.
SWEPCO reported almost 700 outages in the Shreveport, Louisiana, area.
