Many of our more seasoned readers, when faced with some puzzling new bit of technology, have probably been told, "it's so easy a five-year-old kid could do it."

And thinking, in exasperated response, "Great. All I have to do now is find a five-year-old to explain it to me."

Well, now's the chance. Sort of.

The Ark-Tex Council of Government's Area Agency on Aging is sponsoring a "Seniors Serving Seniors" class next month.

High school seniors, that is. Local teen tech wizards will help older adults navigate the sometimes confusing world of smartphone applications, Internet browsers and tablets.

Instruction will include everything from taking photos on your phone to checking email to handling filling out online forms and paying bills over the Internet.

Classes start April 4 and will continue on Thursdays for four weeks, with morning and afternoon sessions available. Anyone 60 or older is eligible.

You can make a reservation by calling1-800-372-4464 or sending an email to [email protected] school students helping seniors in our community. Sounds like a great experience for all concerned.
