TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Arkansas State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting on East 19th Street.

The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon while an officer from an outside agency was serving a federal warrant in a parking lot at East 19th and Oats streets. At some point during the warrant being served, shots were fired and the suspect was hit, said Kristin Schultz, Texarkana Arkansas Police Department spokesperson.

The person shot was taken to a local hospital for treatment. No officers were injured during the incident. Arkansas State Police have been called in to investigate.

No other information was immediately available.

This story has been corrected. A previous version erroneously stated the involved officer was unarmed.
