Sevier County under burn ban
Sevier County, Ark., is under a burn ban effective today.
The county includes the cities of De Queen, Lockesburg, Horatio and Gillham.
The ban will remain in effect until conditions are better, said County Judge Greg Ray.
Miller County was placed under ban Tuesday.
Governor makes appointment
Gov. Mike Beebe recently made appointments.
Robert Hill of Prescott, Ark., was reappointed to the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy. The appointment expires July 1, 2015.
Robert Burns of Magnolia, Ark., was appointed to the Criminal Detention Facility Review Committee. The appointment expires Jan. 14, 2013.
