The size of success: Booming business means Julie's Deli must add a new freezer unit

Julie's Deli in Texarkana, Texas, has enjoyed such success that their old freezer just is not large enough. Julie Furlow poses with the new unit that is in the process of being added to her deli. Julie's Deli and Market, 4055 Summerhill Square, has reached the point that their original freezer unit just is not large enough. So they are adding an additional freezer unit for more capacity.

"Walk-in freezers come in packages of panels four-inches thick apiece," said Julie Furlow, owner of Julie's Deli. "They are assembled on site, using a set design. Our business has been booming, especially with lots of casseroles being made and our current freezer is now too small for the level of business we are now doing. We've grown and need more capacity. We still have our current freezer, this will just give us more capacity."

That success did not come overnight, however. Julie's Deli has been at this game for 24 years and they are in a mood to celebrate.

"Our anniversary is on June 1," she said. "And we are going to celebrate. On Monday of June 1, we will give away one of our cookies with every lunch order."

Also, since dine-in returned to Texas restaurants two weeks ago, they have begun their Saturday brunch, back by popular demand.

Furlow credits both customers and her staff for the success of Julie's Deli, both getting through the shutdown and for their success over the years.

"Customers have been phenomenal through the shutdown, we could not ask for a better support base," she said. "And my staff, these great people work hard, like champs, not only keeping this place running, but founts of ideas. Good employees and good customers, you have them both, this job is a lot easier. And Texarkana, we appreciate the support of our town. Texarkana takes care of Texarkana."
