TEXARKANA, Texas - A man who allegedly offered a 10-year-old girl a happy meal in exchange for sexual contact is facing child sex abuse charges in Bowie County.
Eduardo Degollado Mendez, 37, was arrested May 6 on charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact and continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, according to Bowie County jail records.
A young relative of Mendez's was interviewed the same day at the Texarkana Children's Advocacy Center and allegedly described being sexually abused by Mendez.
The child allegedly told a forensic interviewer that Mendez once offered to buy her a happy meal in exchange for sexual touching.
The girl allegedly described other incidences of sexual abuse as well.
Mendez is currently being held in the Bowie County jail. Bail on both charges is set at $150,000 for a total of $300,000.
