IN OUR VIEW | Early Voting: Be sure to go to the polls now or on Election Day

November 3 is Election Day in America. But you don't have to wait until then.

Early voting began last week in Texas. And Arkansas will start allowing voters to cast an early ballot beginning Monday.

Turnout has been strong in the Lone Star State, with more than a million voters braving long lines on the first day alone to choose their preferred candidates.

We expect much the same when Arkansas early voting locations open.

Texas early voting continues until Oct. 30. Arkansans can vote early until Nov. 2.

It's been a raucous and rancor-filled campaign season, with most attention focused on the presidential race between incumbent President Donald Trump and his challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden.

But there are other races on the ballot in both states. And they deserve careful consideration.

We won't tell you how to vote. Frankly, we don't think you should rely on anyone else to make your choices for you. We hope you've studied the candidates and the issues and have come to your own conclusions.

We will, though, encourage you to vote. Either early or on Election Day.
