In Our View/Double Standard Biden, Pelosi refuse to call for Cuomo resignation

Democrats say believe a woman if she makes an accusation of sexual misconduct.

But do they practice what they preach?

Sure they do - if the accused is a Republican. Then they are outraged by such alleged behavior. They will push for his resignation or removal from office. And, should he deny the charge, they're unwilling to wait until the matter is settled by investigation, admission or in court before making up their minds.

But when the shoe is on the other foot? Not so much.

On Sunday, neither President Joe Biden nor House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would call for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to step down amid charges by several women of sexual harassment.

Pelosi, speaking on ABC's "This Week," said she has zero tolerance for sexual harassment but said the Cuomo matter should wait until an investigation is completed.

The president, speaking with reporters on the White House South Lawn, also adopted a "wait-and-see" position.

To be sure, some Democrats have joined Republicans and others in calling for Cuomo to step down. But not the party's most prominent leaders.

But if Cuomo had an "R" behind his name instead of a "D"? We are pretty sure what tune they'd be singing. And we bet you are, too.
