CHEERS & JEERS | Letters from September 12, 2020

JEERS: Wouldn't it be nice if all of us could just get along in this world? Fighting virus, fighting police actions is far from it. Biden and Harris say they can do better. Can they? They are people like you and me. Black Lives Matter, yes. Casino owners are people, too. We can go on forever. In the 1960s I lived in Los Angeles. Two of us went throughout Watts on a rendering truck. Scary, yes, but all went well. Those people that caused racial grief in the 30s and 40s and whenever are dead and others aged. We can't put them in jail. There's a Bible verse that describes Joe Biden and Kamala Harris - Isaiah 32-8. Something to think about. - G.C., Queen City, Texas

CHEERS: For columnist S. E. Cupp for her article on Sept. 1st in which she acknowledged that; "Over the past four years we've seen that Trump's appeal wasn't merely the result of a fluke or an irrelevant procedural mishap. It was real. Supported by real people. For real reasons." She also noted that at the 2020 RNC there were "many people of varying backgrounds" that included women, Hispanic, Democrats, and people of color, who" told compelling stories of why they still support the president." She said of President Trump, " plenty of ordinary people still believe that he's better than the alternative." - L.W., Atlanta, Texas

JEERS: As God's word reveals (in II Tim. 3), in the last days seducers will be worse, "deceiving and being deceived." Evidence of this is widespread on social media. " Associated Press" articles points out some examples of people being misled by inaccurate postings. Whether they originated from someone intentionally deceptive or not, the truth, and the whole truth should be made known. Writers for the "Associate Press" are increasingly including themselves amongst most media sources, that are deficient in presenting the "whole truth." Focusing more on exposing any inaccuracies that are harmful to liberal causes, while increasingly presenting half truths, to favor the Democratic Party. - D.H.M., Texarkana, Arkansas
