UIL finalizes baseball, softball realignments for 2020-2021 year

AUSTIN - The 2020-2021 school year baseball and softball realignments for Texas were finalized Monday by the UIL.

Texas High will see more familiar opponents in District 15-5A play. Joining the Tigers and Lady Tigers will be Hallsville, Longview, Pine Tree, Marshall, Mount Pleasant and Sulphur Springs.

Pleasant Grove and Liberty-Eylau saw little change in their district matchups, other than the addition of Gilmer in both sports. Along with the Hawks, Leopards and Buckeyes, as well as the softball versions, will be Paris, North Lamar and Pittsburg in District 15-4A play next spring.

District 14-3A includes schools in the Gazette coverage area with Atlanta, DeKalb, Hooks, New Boston, Paul Pewitt, Queen City and Redwater, and Hughes Springs is a member of District 15-3A for both softball and baseball. Joining HS will be Daingerfield, New Diana, Gladewater, Sabine, Ore City and White Oak.

The 2A district schools will be in 18-2A for softball and 17-2A for baseball.

The softball 18-2A league comprises Linden-Kildare, Maud, McLeod, James Bowie, Avery and Bloomburg, and those teams are joined in the baseball 17-2A by Rivercrest and Detroit.
