ATLANTA, Texas - Tucked away in Cass County is one of the nation's most sought after basketball recruits in Atlanta's Daimion Collins.

From his post position, Collins led the Rabbs to a 30-5 season overall and a District 14-3A championship, finishing 12-0.

Collins has netted over 15 offers and continues to stay active during this quarantine period.

"I've been working out a lot at home," Collins. "I've also been able to do some ball handling drills. We also have some weights, so I try to get on those as much as possible. I also try to get in as much running as I can, while following all the social distancing guidelines.

"I can't do everything I want to do, so I'm trying to focus on sharpening my skills in other areas."

Collins also stays active on the Amateur Athletic Union basketball circuit, suiting up for Blake Griffin's Team Griffin in the summer, when he's not holding down the paint for the Rabbs.

"We're trying to win the Peach Jam championship again," Collins said. "Last season was a great experience for me. It was the first time I've played on the EYBL circuit, and it was also great to play against the top competition in the country. It was good to have Blake there to tell me what I need to work on. He helped me develop my game further last summer."

Entering his senior season, Collins has the Rabbs positioned to make another deep postseason run.

"My goal for next season is to win a state championship," Collins said. "This is my last season, so I'm trying to make the best of it. I don't really think of myself as a top-ranked player. I just keep working and playing basketball. I try not to get caught up in all the offers and rankings. At the end of the day, it's just someone's opinion. I'm focused on maintaining my goals.

Per Rivals.com, Collins is No. 5 at his position and No. 22 nationally. Per 247Sports.com, Collins is the No. 23 player nationally and No. 2 player in the state of Texas. Per ESPN.com, Collins is a Top-60 junior nationally and No. 6 at his position.

Jerry Meyer is the director of scouting for basketball at 247Sports.com and recently evaluated Collins.

"Quite thin but has long arms and is quick off the floor as an explosive leaper," Meyer said. " Highly mobile with good hands. Finishes with strength around the rim and can score facing. Has potential to greatly improve as a face-up player."
