Junior Razorbacks drub Longview, 16-4, on Friday

LONGVIEW, Texas - The Texarkana Junior Razorbacks scored in every inning and easily handled Longview on Saturday during American Legion play.

Texarkana (7-5-1) was up 10-0 in the fifth inning before Longview could stop the bleeding as the home team scored four runs to avoid the shutout.

The Hogs, however, would answer back with a six-run sixth inning to cushion their lead and seal the game, 16-4.

Jackson Shipp continued his recent success - this time on the mound - where he went four innings, allowed just one hit and kept Longview scoreless. Teammate Jack Abston came in and finished in relief.

Rilyn Coleman connected on the game's only home run in the sixth inning, while Colby Brooks, Trey Malone and Nate Moore each racked up multiple hits for the Junior Razorbacks. Brooks went 3-for-3 at the plate and had four stolen bases in the win.

Texarkana has won three of its last four games.
