BOYS PLAYOFFS | Nine Texas boys basketball teams to begin playoffs

TEXARKANA, Texas - Two local teams, Pleasant Grove and Liberty-Eylau, along with seven area teams will play in the UIL boys basketball bi-district playoffs this week.

The Hawks (16-6) face off against Kilgore at 3 p.m. at Marshall High School on Saturday. The Leopards are set to clash with Tyler Chapel Hill at 7 p.m. at Marshall High School on Saturday.

Four Class 3A area teams reached the playoffs in Atlanta, New Boston, Hooks and DeKalb.

The Rabbits tangle with Winnsboro at 7 p.m. at Mount Pleasant's Willie Williams Gym on Thursday. The Lions tussle with Mount Vernon at 6 p.m. at Pittsburg High School on Thursday. If New Boston can not play due to inclement weather, the game will be at 2 p.m. at Pittsburg High School on Saturday.

The Hornets go up against Mineola at 7 p.m. at Marshall High School on Friday, while the Bears take on Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill at 8 p.m. at Prairiland High School on Friday.

Area playoff teams out of Class 2A include McLeod, Maud and Linden-Kildare.

The Longhorns have not set any playoff details yet.

The Cardinals face down North Hopkins at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill High School on Thursday.

The Tigers fight it out with Como-Pickton at 7 p.m. at Pittsburg High School on Friday.
