Razorbacks suffer heartbreaker 66-63 loss to Lake Hamilton

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Andre Reed poured in 18 points for Arkansas High, but the Razorbacks lost a heartbreaker to Lake Hamilton, 66-63, on Friday at the Wolf Den.

"The kids have played well all year," Arkansas High head coach Sam Weaver said. "We just don't finish well. We put ourselves in position to win time and time again. We just made silly mistakes at the end."

Nick Watson swished in 15 points for the Razorbacks (13-9, 6-6), while teammates Mason Cornelius and Kryson Young each scored 13.

Arkansas High missed three opportunities to take the lead late in the game.

Tyler Robinson, a Wolf freshman, sunk two free throws with 13 seconds left in the game to give Lake Hamilton a 3-point lead. The Razorbacks got off a shot from downtown at the buzzer but just missed.

Zac Pennington paced the Wolves (13-8, 8-4) with 26 points, while Robinson contributed 15.

Arkansas High plays at Hot Springs on Monday.

Track and field

THS girls, Atlanta boys win

TEXARKANA, Texas - Texas High's girls and Atlanta's boys won their respective divisions Friday in the annual Paul Parr Relays held at Max Harris Stadium.

Liberty-Eylau High School hosted the event.

The Lady Tigers rolled up 111 points to outdistance runner-up Liberty-Eylau, which had 92.

Atlanta's boys surpassed 120 points to take gold in their division. Texas High totaled 95 points for second place.

Texas High's JV girls won their bracket with 192 points while the host Leopards were second with 97 points.

Softball

Linden-Kildare 6, Detroit 0

DETROIT, Texas - Hayley Mason threw a 7-inning no-hitter and struck out 12 to lead Linden-Kildare to a 6-0 win over Detroit on Thursday.

Smith walked seven in the contest.

Ashtin Patterson led the Lady Tigers with two triples and a single to drive in a run, and Kaycee Neville added a double and single to plate two runs. Patterson also stole two bases.

L-K defensive standouts were Kyndal Fitts, Nevillle, Allie Smallwood and Soohia Hampton.
