TEXARKANA, Texas - It was a great night for inter-city American Legion baseball at George Dobson Field.

The Texarkana Bulldogs defeated the Texarkana Razorbacks in their home opener in nine innings, 8-4.

Bulldogs' Chris Lyles scored the first run in the game after stealing two bases and crossing the plate on a Marzavin Riles single through the infield in the bottom of the first inning.

Riles finished the game going 1 for 1 with a RBI for the Bulldogs.

Ryan Galvan made the start for the Bulldogs. Galvan went five innings, gave up four hits and one run. Galvan also finished on 64 pitches.

Bryson Rhodes scored for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the second inning from second base on a throwing error, 2-0.

Rhodes finished the game going 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI.

The Bulldogs added to their lead in the bottom of the third inning when Cooper Perry scored from second on a throwing error.

Perry went 1 for 4 with a run scored for the Bulldogs.

The Razorbacks jumped on the board in the top of the fourth inning on Daegen Covington's RBI triple, driving in Bryson Connell from first base.

Covington finished the night going 2 for 4 with a triple and RBI.

Aaron Prince drove in Keaton Russo for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fourth inning, adding to the cushion, 4-0.

Prince ended the night going 2 for 3 with a RBI and triple.

The following batter, Lyles drove in Prince, for a 5-1 advantage for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fourth.

Lyles finished the contest going 2 for 4 with a RBI and two stolen bases.

Rhodes drove in TJ Krause for the Bulldogs sixth run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, 6-1.

Prince drove in his second run of the game on a single down the left-field line, driving in Rhodes for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fifth, 7-1.

Bryson Connell hit a solo homerun in the top of the sixth inning for the Razorbacks, slicing into the Bulldogs advantage, 7-2.

Rhodes drove in his second RBI of the game, driving in Chris Sutton from third base, giving the Bulldogs a 8-2 lead.

Connell drove in Silas Cowgill for the Razorbacks in the top off the sixth inning, cutting into the Bulldogs cushion, 8-3.

The Razorbacks were able to get another fun across the plate in the top of the sixth, slicing the Bulldogs lead in half, 8-4.
