HOOKS, Texas - Residents in parts of this town - located east of Texarkana - must boil their water before consuming it. Because of a water main break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has issued a boil order.
Residents on West Avenue A from McMichadl to West 22nd need to boil their water prior to consumption, washing hands/face or brushing teeth, city officials said.
Water should be brought to a vigorous boil and then boiled for two minutes.
Once the boil order is no longer in effect, the water system will issue a notice to customers.
