TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas-side firefighters union is seeking donations to buy new winter coats for local children in need.

International Association of Fire Fighters Local 367 is raising funds in partnership with a nonprofit called Operation Warm that makes and distributes children's coats. The union hopes to bring in at least $2,000, which would pay for 100 coats.

Coats will be distributed to children identified by Texarkana Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Club and Texarkana Special Education Center-Early Head Start.

Any donation amount is welcomed. For each $20 donated, firefighters will be able to deliver one new, fitted coat to a child. The donations are tax deductible.

To donate, visit IAFF 367's Operation Warm web page.
