TEXARKANA, Ark.-A 42-year-old man is dead from a gunshot wound after allegedly threatening twice to kill his father, according to police.

Mark Mullins, 42, was found dead at a residence in the 3000 block of Jefferson Avenue when police arrived on Saturday morning.

Richard Mullins, 78, apparently shot his son Mark Mullins, 42, after he allegedly felt threatened by Mark Mullins, said TAPD Lt. Ed Chattaway.

The father and son were arguing about 9 a.m. Saturday when Mark Mullins allegedly threatened to kill his father, Chattaway said.

Richard Mullins left to get in his truck and leave for work. Mark Mullins allegedly followed his father and threatened to kill him again.

Richard Mullins, in fear his son would follow through on the threats, reached in his truck for his pistol and shot his son one time.

No arrest had been made as of Saturday afternoon. The case will be put together and forwarded to the prosecuting attorney for review and determination if charges will be filed, according to police.
