TEXARKANA, Texas - One man is dead after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of Chili's Grill and Bar, according to police here.

The man who is believed to be in his early 30s was shot and killed about 4:30 p.m., said Shawn Vaughn, spokesman for the Texarkana Texas Police Department.

The victim had not been identified as of late Wednesday.

The shooting happened directly in front of the restaurant at 3415 Mall Drive. No one else was injured. No suspect information was immediately available. Detectives do not believe the shooting was an act of random violence.

"Its still very early in the investigation and our detectives are out here interviewing witnesses. While the motive is not yet clear, there is no indication that this was a random act," Vaughn said.

Chili's is behind Central Mall and situated between Books-A-Million and Michael's parking lots.

Once on the scene, police blocked off the road between the mall and Chili's and redirected traffic through the Dillard's parking lot.
