Bowie County COVID-19 death toll reaches 17

Bowie County, Texas, reported a new coronavirus-related death Wednesday, bringing the county's total to 17.

The local emergency Joint Operations Center reported an increase of nine confirmed coronavirus cases from Tuesday to Wednesday, from 277 to 286, with 119 recoveries.

Cass County, Texas' tally also rose, from 44 to 47, with 38 recoveries and two deaths, according to the JOC.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Titus County's count increased from 702 to 710, Red River County's from 110 to 112 and Morris County's from 38 to 39.

In Southwest Arkansas, Sevier County's case count rose from 700 to 706, Miller County's from 114 to 118, Nevada County's from 101 to 102, Howard County's from 89 to 94 and Lafayette County's from 18 to 19, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Hempstead County held at 50 cases and Little River County at 38. Pike County's tally was adjusted downward, from eight to seven.

Caddo Parish in Northwest Louisiana added 109 cases Wednesday to reach 3,418, and Bossier Parish added 31 cases to reach 906, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 21,197 cumulative cases with 277 deaths, Louisiana reported 60,178 cases with 3,130 deaths, and Texas reported 168,062 cases with 2,481 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 2,624,873 total cases so far in the U.S., with a national death toll of 127,299.
