Bowie judge suspends visits with children in protective custody

TEXARKANA, Texas -County Court at Law Judge Craig Henry issued a standing order Wednesday suspending all face-to-face visits between parents and children in state custody in Bowie County, Texas, until May 8.

The move is meant to protect "all parties" and to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Henry's order directs the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to make arrangements for telephonic, Skype or Facetime communications in lieu of in-person visits.
