Blood center to hold drive Tuesday in Fouke

FOUKE, Ark. - LifeShare Blood Center will hold a blood drive from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Fouke Community Center, 210 E. Redcut Road.

"With any medical emergency such as we are in with the coronavirus, it creates a blood shortage used to save lives," Fouke Mayor Terry Purvis said.

Precautions will be taken during the blood drive to protect everyone during their visit, Purvis said.

There is a national blood supply shortage across the country. COVID-19 has affected the blood supply and resulted in blood drives being canceled.

The safety of donations remains important to LifeShare. LifeShare follows FDA safety regulations to ensure a safe and hygienic donation environment. COVID-19 poses no known risk to during the donation process.
