The Greater Texarkana Young Professionals recently created a Facebook fundraising competition among members to encourage donations to local nonprofits during difficult times due to COVID-19.
Participants raised over $5,000 dollars with Megan Roberts raising the most at $1,300. Her prize was a custom fire pit from a generous donor to acknowledge her efforts in raising the most money individually. Money raised included: Randy Sams - $2,980; Opportunities, Inc. - $700; Texarkana Symphony Orchestra - $680; Northeast Texas CASA - $345; Harvest Texarkana - $290.
