Bowie County adds COVID-19 death | Active cases down in Miller County

The number of deaths because of COVID-19 among Bowie County, Texas, residents increased by one from Monday to Thursday, reaching a total of 76 since the pandemic began.

The local emergency Joint Operations Center also reported an increase of 93 in Bowie County's cumulative confirmed coronavirus cases, moving the county's total from 1,653 to 1,746, with 1,230 recoveries. The Texas Department of State Health Service estimates that there are 428 active cases in the county.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Red River's case count increased from 181 to 190, Morris County's from 201 to 209, Cass County's from 461 to 477 and Titus County's from 1,527 to 1, 562, according to TDSHS.

The number of active cases in Miller County, Arkansas, fell from 164 to 153 Monday to Thursday, with 943 recoveries and 13 deaths, according to the Arkansas Department of Health. The county's cumulative case count rose by 42, from 1,067 to 1,109.

Lafayette County's case count rose from 139 to 144, Pike County's from 245 to 251, Nevada County's from 252 to 265, Little River County's from 387 to 402, Hempstead County's from 465 to 481, Howard County's from 501 to 510 and Sevier County's from 1,216 to 1,221, according to ADH.

In Northwest Louisiana, Caddo Parish's tally increased from 9,670 to 9,855 and Bossier Parish's from 3,909 to 4,082, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 96,292 cumulative confirmed coronavirus cases and 1,772 deaths, Louisiana reported 178,171 cases and 5,593 deaths, and Texas reported 845,100 cases and 17,286 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 8,312,667 total cases in the U.S. so far, with a national death toll of 221,438.
