Habitat home now under way in Redwater

REDWATER, Texas - Habitat for Humanity's first home in Redwater is starting to take shape.

HFH Executive Director Mary Wormington, who direct's the organization's local efforts from it's Texarkana, Texas office, said last week, that work-crews recently finished pouring the designated 1,100-square-foot home's concrete slab foundation. She added that the foundation is now dry and almost ready for the future abode's vertical frame construction to take place.

"Right now, we're waiting for the Bowie-Cass Electric Co. to install their electric meter so our work crews can start using their power saws for building the frame," she said.

Wormington added that volunteers with both the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters could soon be coming from Dallas, Tyler and Longview to help with building the project.

For more information on how to volunteer, call the HFH Texarkana, Texas, office at 903-832-1746.
