Man, 22, faces stalking, other charges involving ex-girlfriend

TEXARKANA, Texas - A man who allegedly terrorized a woman after she ended their romantic relationship is facing charges of stalking, burglary and burglary with intent to commit assault.

Tremont Akeem Davis, 22, is free on bonds totaling $145,000.

A woman reported to Texarkana, Texas, police that she and Davis ended their relationship Feb. 19. Davis allegedly came to the woman's apartment two days later and assaulted her, according to a probable cause affidavit. The woman broke her leg when she jumped from the balcony of her second-floor unit attempting to get away.

Davis allegedly returned to the woman's apartment March 26. He allegedly kicked the door in and slapped the woman. The woman told police later that she was later treated for a broken arm that occurred as she tried to hold the door closed.

The woman reported she went to stay at a relative's home after receiving treatment for her arm. Davis allegedly sent her text messages telling her he knew where she was.

He is also accused of breaking into her apartment while she was gone, stealing her television and destroying her clothing.

If convicted of burglary Davis faces two to 20 years in prison. Stalking is punishable by two to 10 years.
