Seven COVID-19 deaths since Monday in Bowie County

From Monday to Thursday, Bowie County, Texas, recorded seven additional deaths because of COVID-19, bringing the county's death toll to 179, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Active coronavirus cases in Bowie County declined from 512 to 491 in that time, while cumulative confirmed infections increased by three, from 4,510 to 4,513. There have been 5,814 recoveries in the county.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas from Monday to Thursday, Red River County's total case count rose from 390 to 393, Morris County's from 560 to 562, Cass County's from 1,111 to 1,114 and Titus County's from 2,632 to 2,642, according to TDSHS.

Miller County, Arkansas, also added one to its COVID-19 death toll, bringing the total to 21, according to the Arkansas Department of Health. Active cases in the county rose from 19 to 21 and total cases from 2,488 to 2,507. There have been 2,465 recoveries in the county.

In Southwest Arkansas from Monday to Thursday, Lafayette County's case count increased from 347 to 357, Nevada County's from 622 to 624, Pike County's from 726 to 739, Little River County's from 847 to 850, Howard County's from 986 to 991, Hempstead County's from 1,365 to 1,372 and Sevier County's from 1,738 to 1,740, according to ADH.

In Northwest Louisiana from Monday to Thursday, Caddo Parish's case count increased from 24,500 to 24,637 and Bossier Parish's from 12,869 to 12,964, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 251,299 confirmed cases and 5,397 deaths on Thursday, Louisiana reported 427,689 cases and 9,561 deaths, and Texas reported 2,269,871 cases and 42,285 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday reported 28,138,938 cases so far in the U.S., with a national death toll of 503,587.
