Police actively searching for shooting suspect

TEXARKANA, Texas - Police here are continuing to search for shooting suspect Marquis JuJuan Thompson, authorities said Thursday.

Texarkana, Texas, Police obtained a warrant for Thompson, 20, Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of Nichlos Muldrow, 29, behind the Whataburger on New Boston Road.

Muldrow died Tuesday at a local hospital.

Thompson also has warrants for shooting another person in two previous shootings.

On Thursday afternoon, the Texarkana SWAT team responded to a house near Belt Road and Babb Lane after receiving information Thompson might be in the house. However, he was not there and police continue to search for him, said Texarkana Texas Police Department spokesman Shawn Vaughn.

Thompson is considered armed and dangerous and police are very concerned he is still on the streets. They also believe someone knows where he might be.

"Within the period of a couple of weeks, Thompson was involved in at least three separate shootings, with the last one resulting in the death of his victim. Someone knows where he is. All we're asking is that they call us or CrimeStoppers and share that information with us. We're obviously worried that we've likely not seen his last victim if he's not arrested soon," Vaughn said.

Vaughn said it is likely someone could be intentionally hiding Thompson from authorities.

"We are afraid there are people that might be helping him, helping him to hide from us," Vaughn said.

Anyone with information is asked to call TTPD at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area CrimeStoppers at 793-STOP.
