Veal-Gooch released this statement while students were still evacuated:

"There was an email bomb threat sent, and we are reviewing that, as well as doing a grid search within the facility," she said. "They've evacuated the students and staff to the appropriate location. Right now, I know nothing more than that."

Texarkana Independent School District posted on social media that police and fire departments then reviewed the facility for any bombs, and an "all clear" was given for everyone to return to the facility. Students and staff returned back to the facility about 2:45 p.m. and were dismissed at normal time.
