Three from Texarkana tapped for Arkansas boards

LITTLE ROCK - Three Texarkanians are among appointees to various state boards announced recently by Gov. Asa Hutchinson's office.

Remica Gray will serve on the Advisory Council of the Arkansas Arts Council, Anderson Neal will serve on the Board of Examiners in Counseling, and Zachary White will serve on the Criminal Justice Institute Advisory Board.

Gray's reappointment will expire June 30, 2024. The Arkansas Arts Council provides technical and financial assistance to Arkansas arts organizations and other providers of cultural and educational programs.

It grants about $1.5 million per year to nonprofits, schools, agencies and artists that support, grow and evolve the arts in Arkansas.

Neal replaces Vickie Keeton, and his term will expire Dec. 31, 2022.

The Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling regulates the title and practice of counselors and marriage and family therapists in the state.

White, a sergeant with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, was reappointed, and his term will expire Jan. 14, 2025. The Criminal Justice Institute is a part of the University of Arkansas system that provides training and education for certified law enforcement professionals.
