TEXARKANA, Texas - Two businesses are moving into the former Ellis Pottery location on Summerhill Road, across from the Texas High School campus.
Ellis Pottery relocated to the former North Forty Feed Store in 2019 and the Summerhill Road property has stood empty since. About a month ago, a work crew was doing repair work on the roof, and those doing the work as well as the holder of the property called it routine maintenance. However, for the past few weeks, more contractors have been in the interior, reworking the space, including putting in a dividing wall, cutting the interior volume in two.
The parking lot also has been resurfaced and new parking lines have been painted on the black surface. A large business sign has been put up with both the names Dollar Tree and Family Dollar.
"We started on this project about two or three weeks ago," said Jeremy Dowell, service technician and installer for Plunk Heating and Air. "We estimate an opening in October or November."
