WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman is safe in an undisclosed location, his communications director Rebekah Hoshiko said shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Westerman, who represents Arkansas' 4th Congressional District, was in the U.S. Capitol when protesters stormed the building to disrupt congressional proceedings to count the electoral votes for president and vice president.

Hoshiko did not know whether Westerman had yet reached the House chamber when the breach took place.
