Floyd "Little Buddy" Cowley

Floyd "Little Buddy" Cowley of De Kalb, Texas passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at a local care facility. He was 76. Floyd was born September 20, 1943, in New Boston, Texas, to Joe Edgar and Mary Eaton Cowley. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Bowie County Precinct 3 and was a member of the New Boston Roundup Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Connie Cowley of De Kalb, Texas; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Karen and Matt Lightfoot of Ashdown, Arkansas, Nancy and Bryan Ward of New Boston, Texas, Donna Clark of De Kalb, Texas, Michelle Lynch of Euless, Texas, and Mary and Kristopher Shearer of Detroit, Texas; two sisters-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Bro. Jimmy Ramsey and Bro. Steve Minter officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
